Purpose
The Hermosillo Heat Exposure Index Map indicates the normalized (between low (0) and high (1)) spatial concentration (density) of the population most exposed to high surface temperatures.
Description
The Hermosillo Heat Exposure Index Map was created using total population density from the 2010 Sonora Census and Landsat 8 surface temperature from July 14, 2016 (“Surface Temperature” * “Total Population”) and indexing values between 0 (low) and 1 (high). The USO 2010 (Hermosillo Land Use Classification Map) was used to determine population residence.
