Purpose
The Hermosillo Heat Vulnerability Index Map indicates the normalized (between low (0) and high (1)) spatial concentration of the population most vulnerable to thermal extremes based on their expected Sensitivity as well as their residence in relation to Exposure.
Description
The Hermosillo Heat Vulnerability Index Map was created by combining the Sensitivity Index and Exposure Index (“Exposure Index” * “Sensitivity Index”) and indexing values between 0 (low) and 1 (high).
All census data used to construct population indices was derived from the 2010 Sonora Census.
The USO 2010 (Hermosillo Land Use Classification Map) was used to determine population residence.
Landsat 8 Surface Temperature for the Exposure Index is from July 14, 2016.
Spatial Scale: 10 meter
Type: Raster
Attributes
Vulnerability to heat index indicated by sensitivity variables and exposure variables.
